Robin Hood is a heroic outlaw in English folklore. A highly skilled archer and swordsman he is known for robbing the rich and giving their money to the poor. He is duly assisted by a group of fellow outlaws popularly known as his Merry Men. He along with his Merry Men lives in the Sherwood Forest which remains his shelter throughout his life.
To start with, Robin Hood is a commoner, but he is wrongfully dispossessed of his lands and made into an outlaw by an unscrupulous sheriff. The sheriff leaves no stone unturned in robbing and killing Robin Hood but all his efforts prove an exercise in futility. Robin Hood is more than a match for the sheriff and his soldiers. As the story progresses, Robin Hood meets with several hurdles but he easily overcomes them by dint of his bravery and shrewdness.
