It has been my firm conviction since my student days that the Bengalis are gifted with amazing intellectual excellence and their multi-dimensional and multi-direc-tional genius has often amazingly expressed itself in art, literature, philosophy, religion, science, music etc. for which they have been internationally well-recog-nized, celebrated and decorated with Prizes and Awards. Dr. Tamali Neogi is global-ly well-recognized, celebrated and decorated as a poet, short-story writer, critic, translator, editor, reviewer, researcher of substance. Dr. Tamali Neogi’s present anthology of critical essays with meaningful and revealing conversations and intimate dialogues by eminent scholars and critics with Sharankumar Limbale express their deep humanistic concerns for the future well-being and growth of Dalits, though the central focus engaging our attention is on the major feminine issues and challenges faced by the Dalit women in the work of Sharankumar Limbale. In her detailed Editor’s Note, with no mincing of words, Dr. Tamali Neogi has left nothing unsaid about her chief focus in her wonderful academic venture. She is highly suggestive and expressive, not only about the perspectives of the feminine world in the work of Limbale but she has also clearly laid down fresh guide-lines for the prospectives of this trend-setting issue, here, there and everywhere, captivating the attention of all, seriously concerned. Some of her contributing schol-ars and critics of high repute and eminence have honestly, truthfully and profoundly responded to the call. While going through these articles, we feel that we are watch-ing a continuous Jalsa with the Melody, Music and Song of the Dalit women enhanc-ing the beauty and romance of its dramatic effectiveness. I can reasonably hope that this anthology will soon be the crowning achievement of not only Dalit Litera-ture but also a handsome contribution to the Modern Indian English Writing which will evoke enduring interest for deep reflections and further research by seriously concerned scholars!
